Although the number of passengers decreased by 1.14% revenues increased slightly by 0.4%, to 124.2 million euro, and EBITDA was 56.6 million euro.

  • The number of passengers remained steady at 87.7 million per year, with a slight increase in domestic traffic and a reduction in international, due to the drop in the charter flight market. British Airways started direct flights to London and EasyJet to Paris. In 2008, new routes were opened to Newquay, Plymouth, Cardiff, Faro, Pula and La Rochelle.

  • Extension works have started on the terminal, with an investment of 30 million pounds. The new extension will open in October 2008.

  • In June, the new Scottish parliament confirmed the Glasgow Airport Rail Link project which is planned to open in 2011.

  • Glasgow Airport obtained the best rating from customers in the history of BAA: 4.85 points out of 5. The Chamber of Commerce awarded it with the prize for "Excellence in Customer Service". The National Customer Service Awards recognised the achievements of the security team and its capacity to react to terrorist attacks as demonstrated in June 2007 (operations returned to normal within less than 24 hours).
