Recovery of the natural environment

New transport needs require infrastructures with increasing capacity and higher technical complexity, for the construction of which the most modern technology is required and machinery capable of moving large quantities of earth. As a result, these large-scale actions generate relevant impacts on the natural environment. To minimise the environmental effects of these projects, at present almost all infrastructure projects incorporate more or less complex actions aimed at recovering the natural environment affected.

For inclusion of this type of improvement, Ferrovial has intervened in a total of 97 projects with a total studied length of linear infrastructure of 22,606 km. In terms of surface, intervention has taken place in a total of 3,469 Ha, taking into consideration both linear and non-linear infrastructure (EDARs, port projects, desalination plants, dams, industrial facilities, landfills, loans, etc.)
