  • Health: The 407 ETR collaborates annually with the Canadian Cancer Society to organise a marathon to raise funds for curing cancer. In 2007, it also provided financial support for the activities of the George Hall Centre, one of the leading centres in Ontario in the treatment of mental illness in children, the SickKids Foundation, the largest Canadian children's hospital and the Durham Abilities Centre, dedicated to promoting skills among disabled people through recreational activities.

  • Education and training: The toll road has a collaboration agreement with York University, one of the most prestigious Canadian universities, in the faculties of economics and engineering.

  • Economic development: collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, the main world organisation dedicated to providing homes for poor families.  Since its foundation in 1976, it has helped more than a million people to have a home. HFH has built or refurbished over 200,000 homes, 894 in Canada (
